{"id":1637,"date":"2024-12-02T21:55:33","date_gmt":"2024-12-02T20:55:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/guitarsandbasses.eu\/?post_type=product&#038;p=1637"},"modified":"2025-08-30T14:54:35","modified_gmt":"2025-08-30T13:54:35","slug":"nitorlack-relic-gloss","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/guitarsandbasses.eu\/es\/producto\/nitorlack-relic-gloss\/","title":{"rendered":"NITORLACK RELIC GLOSS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Nitrocellulose of high rigidity, with which different types of quarters can be obtained on the surface of the guitar.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It is therefore very easy to obtain the typical vintage effect of the 60\u2019s typical of Fender and Gibson guitars.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Crazing occurs within a few days of applying the product.<\/li>\n<li>If a more pronounced cracking is required, it can be achieved with further temperature changes on the surface of the guitar.<br \/>\nIt is recommended to combine with a ratio of <b>40% <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/nitorlack.com\/en\/barniz\/top-coats\/nitrocellulose-topcoats\/nitorlack-lacquer-gloss-2\/\">Lacquer gloss<\/a> and <strong>10-15% <a href=\"https:\/\/nitorlack.com\/en\/barniz\/solvents\/solvents-en\/solvent-medium-copiar\/\">solvent<\/a><\/strong> to obtain a less \u201caggressive\u201d cracking.<\/li>\n<li>As the ratio of Relic increases the cracking will become more pronounced and deeper.<\/li>\n<li>To enhance cracks and weathered appearance, it is recommended to combine with <a href=\"https:\/\/nitorlack.com\/en\/barniz\/accesories\/relic-patina-en\/relic-patina\/\"><strong>Relic Patina<\/strong>.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Varnishing process:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>If the wood of the guitar comes without previous varnishing, we will have to close\u00a0 completely the pore\u00a0 and cover the grain of the wood, until leaving it totally smooth, using for it several 4-6 coats of\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/nitorlack.com\/en\/barniz\/sealers\/nitrocellulose\/nitorlack-primer\/\">Nitorlack Primer<\/a> (Nitro Primer).<\/li>\n<li>However, if the body of the guitar has already been varnished before, it will be easier as you only need to sand and apply a thin coat of Nitorlack primer.<\/li>\n<li>Apply the chosen colour, sanding between coats to leave the surface uniform and without imperfections.<\/li>\n<li>We start applying the relic finish in thin coats<\/li>\n<li>After this process you can apply two to three thin coats of Nitrocellulose Relic, sanding between coats until the surface is covered.<\/li>\n<li>The process up to this point is the same as the one used with the <a href=\"https:\/\/nitorlack.com\/en\/barniz\/top-coats\/nitrocellulose-topcoats\/nitorlack-lacquer-gloss-2\/\">Lacquer Gloss<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>It can be polished before starting to break nitro.<\/li>\n<li>We wait about 15 days before starting the second phase:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Relic process:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>We put the guitar at a temperature between -10 and -20 degrees Celsius, in 4 hour intervals.<\/li>\n<li>As soon as the guitar comes out of the cold, it will have transparent cracks, so we apply <a href=\"https:\/\/nitorlack.com\/en\/barniz\/accesories\/relic-patina-en\/relic-patina\/\">RELIC PATINA<\/a> with a cloth and clean it, leaving only what remains inside the cracks.<\/li>\n<li>This product should be removed within <strong>3 to 5 minutes<\/strong> after application. This will make it easier to remove the excess, as it will not have dried completely.<\/li>\n<li>Leave the guitar at room temperature for 4 to 6 hours.<\/li>\n<li>You can repeat the cold and Relic Patina process as many times as you like. The more times you do it, the more pronounced the quarting will be, but 4 to 6 times should be enough.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Important:<\/strong> The spray is ready for direct application. However, the 1 litre can needs to be combined with <strong>40% <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/nitorlack.com\/en\/barniz\/top-coats\/nitrocellulose-topcoats\/nitorlack-lacquer-gloss-2\/\">Lacquer gloss<\/a> and <strong>10-15%<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/nitorlack.com\/en\/barniz\/solvents\/solvents-en\/solvent-medium-copiar\/\">solvent<\/a>, to obtain a less \u201caggressive\u201d cracking. The higher the Relic ratio, the more pronounced and deeper the crazing will become.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Relic nitrocellulose finish for guitars.
